Metronidazole 400 mg. (Tablets)
Metronidazole is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections. It works by inhibiting the growth of bacteria in the body. 1) Precautions Before Using Metronidazole: Exercise caution in individuals with the following conditions:
- History of allergy to Metronidazole
- Pre-existing medical conditions, especially liver disease, kidney disease, neurological disorders, porphyria, and seizure disorders

2) How to UseHow to use the medication:

- Children aged 3-7 years: Take 100-200 mg four times a day for 5-10 days
- Children aged 7-10 years: Take 400-800 mg three times a day for 5-10 days, or take 35-50 mg/kg/day in three divided doses for 5-10 days with a maximum dose of 2,400 mg/day
- Adults: Take 800 mg three times a day for 5-10 days, or take 35-50 mg/kg/day in three divided doses for 5-10 days with a maximum dose of 2,400 mg/day
- If a dose is missed, no need to double the dose if close to the next scheduled dose.
3) Precautions while using the medication:
- Do not use in individuals allergic to Metronidazole or any of its components.
- Do not use it in pregnant women, especially during the first trimester.
- Do not use in patients with central nervous system disorders or abnormal blood function.
- Use with caution in breastfeeding women and patients with abnormal liver or kidney function.
4) Potential risks from the medication: Using Metronidazole may cause allergic reactions, such as hives, itching, facial or neck swelling, difficulty breathing, joint pain, and blistering skin rash. If any of these symptoms occur, discontinue the medication immediately and seek medical attention. Additionally, Metronidazole may also lead to other side effects, including:
- Nausea, Vomiting, Loss of appetite
- Abdominal pain
- Diarrhea
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Nasal congestion
- Dry mouth
- Swollen tongue
- The urine is dark in color

5) How to store the medication:
- Store at temperatures between 25 degrees Celsius.
