Our Dentists in Chiang Mai
General dentists are where most people start. They examine, clean, fill, take out straightforward teeth, and follow up afterwards.
They are also the ones who notice when something needs a specialist — and because the specialists work in the same clinic, that referral happens without you having to start again somewhere else.

Prosthodontics deals with teeth that are badly damaged or missing — crowns and bridges, removable and fixed dentures, and full-mouth rehabilitation where many teeth have to be rebuilt at the same time.
What separates it from repairing one tooth at a time is that the whole mouth is treated as a single system. When several teeth are involved, when veneers and crowns are combined, or when the bite itself has to change, the prosthodontist plans it as one piece of work — and carries out the veneers and the smile design within that same plan.
The clinic is equipped for digital work where it helps: intraoral scanning with 3Shape Trios, Medit and iTero, and dentures produced by CAD/CAM, in polymer, or on a PEEK framework, which is metal-free and lighter to wear. One advantage of a digital denture is that the design stays on file, so a replacement can be made from it if the denture is ever lost or damaged. Your dentist will use whichever approach suits your case.

Endodontics treats infection inside the tooth — the part that causes the pain that keeps people awake.
This covers root canal treatment, retreatment of a tooth that was treated before but still gives trouble, and surgery at the root tip when the infection will not settle.
Depending on the tooth, treatment may involve a dental microscope, ultrasonic instruments to find and clean the canals, or a Waterlase laser to disinfect them, including the small side canals that files and irrigation alone cannot reach. Your dentist decides which of these a particular tooth needs. Having them available is often what makes the difference between saving a tooth and losing it.

Restorative dentistry rebuilds teeth that are decayed, cracked or worn down.
It covers tooth-coloured fillings, inlays and onlays, and crowns — chosen according to how much of the natural tooth is left. The aim throughout is to keep as much of your own tooth as possible.

Orthodontics moves the teeth into a better position and corrects how the upper and lower jaws meet.
Treatment may use fixed braces or clear aligners, and in cases where the problem is the position of the jaw rather than the teeth, orthodontic treatment is combined with jaw surgery.
Every case begins with records — photographs, a scan and X-rays — so the plan and the expected result can be discussed before any appliance is fitted.

Periodontics is the care of the gum and the bone that hold your teeth in place. Most patients come because the gum bleeds, has receded, or a tooth has started to feel loose.
Treatment ranges from deep cleaning with ultrasonic instruments and Guided Biofilm Therapy, through gum grafting where the gum has receded, to care for teeth loosened by bone loss.
The same specialty also handles the appearance of the gum: crown lengthening for teeth that look short, correction of a gummy smile, and depigmentation where the gum looks dark. A Waterlase laser is used for the procedures that call for it.
Healthy gums are also what allow a dental implant or a crown to last, which is why this is often the first step in a larger plan.

Children here are seen by our general and specialist dentists, who adjust the appointment to the child’s age and to how the child is coping on the day.
This covers check-ups, fluoride and sealants, fillings and baby-tooth extractions. If a child needs treatment that would be better done under specialist paediatric care, we will say so and help arrange it.

Oral surgery covers the extractions that are more than a routine one: impacted wisdom teeth, roots that have broken below the gum, and teeth that have to come out before orthodontic treatment or an implant.
The same team carries out bone grafting to prepare a site where an implant will be placed later.
Most of this work is done under local anaesthetic in a single visit, with written aftercare so you know what to expect over the following days.

Maxillofacial cases involve the jaws and the facial bones, not the teeth alone.
These are seen on a consultation basis, most often where the position of the jaw itself has to be corrected surgically alongside orthodontic treatment.

Maxillofacial Surgeon- Diplomate, Thai Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Oral and maxillofacial pathology is concerned with disease of the mouth and jaws.
It covers lesions that need a biopsy and a laboratory diagnosis before treatment can be planned, white or red patches that have to be watched for change, and swellings in the jaw found on an X-ray.
The dentist in this field provides both the diagnosis and the treatment.

TMD is pain and dysfunction of the jaw joint and the muscles that move it.
People come with pain in front of the ear or in the cheek, a jaw that clicks or locks, difficulty opening wide, headaches on waking, and teeth worn down from grinding at night. Many do not know the condition has a name.
Assessment looks at the joint, the muscles and the bite together. Treatment may include a bite splint, physiotherapy for the jaw muscles, and adjusting the bite where the bite is part of the cause.

A dental implant replaces the root of a missing tooth, so that a crown, a bridge or a denture has something solid to sit on.
We treat cases from a single missing tooth to a full arch. Planning starts with a CT scan to see how much bone is there, and bone grafting or a sinus lift is added when the bone needs building up first.
For a full arch we place All-on-4 using the NeoArch system. For patients who already wear a denture that will not stay in place, an implant-supported denture is often the simpler answer.

Cosmetic dentistry is not a single specialty here. Veneers, smile design, tooth whitening and composite bonding are carried out by our esthetic dentists and our prosthodontists alike.
That is why the same dentist appears under more than one specialty on this page. Who takes the case depends on what the teeth need, not on a job title — and where the bite has to change as well, the orthodontist is involved too.
For whitening we use Opalescence. For anything that changes the shape of a tooth, the plan is discussed and agreed before treatment starts.

Some patients need dental care planned around the rest of their life, not only around the tooth.
That includes older patients with medical conditions, regular medication and dry mouth; people who cannot sit through a long appointment; people who use a wheelchair or are cared for at home; and patients whose condition makes routine dental treatment difficult.
Here the plan is built in shorter steps, at a pace the patient can manage, and worked out together with the family or the carer.
