Ibuprofen 400 mg. (Tablets)

Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain, reduce fever, and alleviate inflammation. It is commonly used for mild to moderate pain relief, including pain from inflammation, menstrual pain, and headaches. Medical professionals also prescribe it for certain types of joint pain and to alleviate migraine headaches.

1) Precautions Before Using Ibuprofen:  Use Ibuprofen with caution in individuals with the following conditions:

  • History of stomach ulcers
  • Asthma
  • Heart disease
  • High blood pressure
  • Allergy to aspirin or other NSAIDs

 2)  How to Use: How to use the medication: Ibuprofen should be taken with or after food immediately to reduce gastric irritation. It is potentially dangerous and has moderate side effects, so it should not be self-administered. Use the smallest effective dose for the shortest duration, not exceeding 10 days. Dosages vary between adults and children, so consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.

2.1) If a dose is missed, take it when remembered. Do not double the dose if it’s near the time for the next dose.

2.2)  For headache and fever relief:

  • Adults: 200 to 400 mg every 4 to 6 hours, not exceeding 1200 mg daily.
  • Children: 5 to 10 mg/kg every 4 to 8 hours, not exceeding 4 doses per day.
  • 2.3 For menstrual pain relief:
  • Start with 200 mg every 4 to 6 hours, adjusting the dose as needed but not exceeding 1200 mg daily.
  • 2.4 For the treatment of some diseases at maximum dosage:
  • Adults: 400 to 800 mg every 3 to 4 times a day, not exceeding 3200 mg daily.
  • Children: 30 to 40 mg/kg per day, divided into 3 to 4 doses.

 3) Precautions while using the medication:

  • Use the medication as directed by a doctor or pharmacist.
  • Take medication with food or immediately after eating to reduce gastrointestinal side effects.
  • Use caution in patients with heart, liver, or kidney disease, and in those with asthma.
  • Avoid taking medication with blood thinners or other NSAIDs.
  • Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration.

4) Potential risks from the medication: General side effects may include:

  • Blood loss
  • Dizziness
  • Headache
  • Abnormal awakening
  • Abdominal pain
  • Heartburn
  • Nausea
  • Loss of appetite
  • Constipation
  • Diarrhea
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Vomiting
  • Swelling
  • Rash
  • If symptoms persist or disrupt daily life, seek medical attention immediately.

5) Storage:

  • Keep it in the original container.
  • Store in a dry place away from direct sunlight at temperatures not exceeding 30 degrees Celsius.
  • Do not store in hot or humid places, such as cars, bathrooms, or kitchens.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
